Sizing spigots.
by Frank Clark RPT
An easy way to size a spigot for a particular diameter hole is to make a simple jig by drilling a piece of good quality plywood, 8 - 10mm thick, with the sawtooth bit and cutting the plywood through the centre of the hole to give a semicircular template for sizing the spigot. A template for all the common sizes used can be made.

Tin opener
by Gregory Moreton RPT
Tie a magnet (ring ones are easiest) to one end of a length of string and a washer (or coin with a hole drilled in it) to its other. Now attacch the magnet to any metal part of the lathe and you will allways be able to find an opener for your pollish tins.
