It's just a bar
Gary Rance A welcome return to Cheam for Gary, who started by giving us a brief background of how he got into turning. This was followed by a run-down on the uses of the various tools. Had we heard this all before? No, we all certainly learnt something new from Gary’s explanations and demonstrations. Even the awesome skew chisel became a little friendlier to use.

Gary then went on to make his Idiot’s Stick and, on completion, passed it around the audience. It was surprising how many of us couldn’t work it, but later Gary revealed the secret – it is all done by....

Gary showed us new ways to cut a ring and to make an egg (another?). He concluded by turning Banksia nuts in a new design. Sell well at £6.50 each, according to my notes.
