Practical evenings are enjoyable this one was no exception. We had three lathes up and running and it was good to see a large number of members take up tools and have a go. The main product of the evening was eggs for Brian Ash’s Kingston College paint-an-egg project. There was a race between the lathes to see who could make the most eggs – one keen member devised a way of turning two at a time!
As usual, there was a lot of discussion about new tools, techniques and style.“So that’s how you do it!” was often heard.
Tool grinding was, as ever, a popular topic, with the grinders going almost constantly. I think the club should get its own grinder and jigs. How about it, committee?
We all look forward to the next practical evening.
