Matt breaks down a saw    Matt weilds a saw

Matt Boast talked us through the safety procedures for using a chain saw. Covering Clothing from Head to Toe and safe ways to cut and hold a saw.

He finished up with a graphical low down on how a chain works with some giant links that realy showed clearly.

Later on at a small table he demonstrated methods for stripping down a saw and explained the best ways to maintain it and keep it safe.

After Matt's engrosing talk we had an extended coffee break and members had a chance to quiz Matt in more detail.

There was also a lathe set up for people to have a play on and Tim did a quick demo on bowl production (under the watch full eye of newsletter editor Roger Marsden.)

During this time members had the oportunity to study and vote on the entries for the "Frank Clarke Memorial awards"
